Educational Affairs – Fuman Faculty of Engineering

Bachelor's Degree

The Educational Office of the Fuman Faculty of Engineering began its operations in October 2009, simultaneously with the start of the faculty's activities. Currently, it serves hundreds of students in four departments: Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. The primary aim of the office is to ensure the proper functioning of the educational system and provide all the necessary information for students, professors, and other visitors.

The key responsibilities of the Educational Affairs office at the Fouman Faculty of Engineering are as follows:

1. Monitoring the quality of educational activities 
2. Monitoring the quantitative and qualitative aspects of teaching 
3. Supervising the timely organization of classes 
4. Overseeing the academic affairs of students 
5. Organizing mid-term and final exams 
6. Timely communication of educational rules and regulations to students and faculty members 
7. Managing affairs related to adjunct professors and full-time faculty members 
 

Master's Degree

The responsibilities of this unit include:

1. Managing educational affairs for graduate students 
2. Planning courses and units for each semester for the master's program 
3. Handling course registration, adding and dropping courses, evaluations, and other related activities for graduate students 
4. Managing internship programs for undergraduate students 
5. Overseeing the defense process for master's thesis 
6. Coordinating the financial settlement and graduation of graduate students 
7. Managing the research affairs of the faculty 
8. Managing the Industry Relations Office 
9. Handling statistical reports for research activities of faculty members 
10. Coordinating participation in domestic and international conferences for students 
11. Correspondence regarding grants for faculty members 
12. Correspondence regarding students applying for National Elites Foundation facilities 
13. Reporting on the applied research projects of faculty members 
14. Collecting and updating statistics on educational and research laboratories 
15. Managing academic visits for students and faculty members to scientific and industrial centers 
 

Research Affairs

Research is one of the essential needs for the progress and development of any country. The strength and independence of a country are based on research and the production of knowledge. Therefore, the Fouman Faculty of Engineering places great importance on research, and it holds a prominent place in the faculty's decision-making processes.

The research activities of the faculty include:

- Organizing scientific workshops to encourage students to engage in research, especially in contemporary scientific fields. 
- Holding joint sessions with local industries to strengthen industry-academia relations. 
- Conducting research projects and publishing papers by faculty members. 
- Establishing the Tehran University Technology Park Office at the Fouman Faculty of Engineering. 
- Organizing monthly scientific seminars by inviting distinguished professors from academia and industry. 
- Establishing the "Hamseda" Office (Industry-University Cooperation) at the faculty to enhance collaboration with industries in the Gilan province in cooperation with the Industrial Managers Association of Gilan province.
